Two-Factor Non SMS Instagram security is here! Wolf Millionaire explains HOW & WHY you need to lock down your IG account with this new security feature!

Two-Factor Non SMS is a MAJOR feature that has been missing from Instagram for the last 5 years during Instagrams serious user growth curve.

This brand new security feature makes it impossible for any hacker to hack into your Instagram account. Remember when this celebrity got hacked? What a nightmare!

I am not sure why it took Instagram so long to roll out this security feature as it’s been a staple of account security for the social media and digital app community for over a decade.

It couldn’t have come at a more opportunistic time, especially as Instagram made some MAJOR changes as I explain in My Top Instagram Hacking Answers Explained exposé!

I can’t believe Instagram removed the one major safety feature we used to have…

I was recently featured in LA WEEKLY as Hackers Are Holding Instagram Pages of Pot Businesses Hostage thanks to all the consulting & security work I’ve done in the the Cannabis Industry!

Please also make sure you REVOKE & REMOVE access to ALL 3rd Party Applications (like this SCAM, or FAKE followersFAKE likes & FAKE COMMENT apps) as I walk you through this process STEP-BY-STEP in my 2018 Instagram Security Changes article.

If you allow any 3rd party applications to access your IG you are opening up yourself to a MAJOR security threat that could lead to your valuable Instagram account getting hacked.

Enabling this brand new Two-Factor Non SMS security feature is very simple.

Let me walk you through it STEP-BY-STEP just like I do in all my Instagram Video Training Guides!

Two-Factor Non SMS: HOW TO SETUP

Download a 2-Factor Authentication App (required)

  1. The default 2-Factor app that Instagram prefers you use to setup 2-Factor easily (and the one I am using) is “Google Authenticator” (must be on the same phone/device as your IG app that is setting up Two-Factor for each IG account) or you may chose another one like OPTIONAL: “Authy 2-Factor Authentication”.  Both are available for iOS or Android.  I will review the differences between these TWO apps in another blog post next week. They are the BEST Two-Factor apps out there.

FIRST: Get your Instagram Account Setup

  1. Make sure your Instagram app (Android or iOS) is UP TO DATE in your Google Play or Apple App Store.
  2. Open Your Instagram Account, go to your BIO/Home feed page and click on SETTINGS
  3. There is a small chance your location/country might still not have this feature, so be patient.
  4. Look for “TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION” options under “Privacy And Security” (in your SETTINGS).
  5. Turn on the “TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION”
  6. You will see “Get your Code From Google Authenticator” which is the default Two-Factor App Instagram prefers. You can select NEXT or if you want to use AUTHY click the option below NEXT that says “Set Up Manually”.

SECOND: Setup Google Authenticator (Instagram’s default option)

  1. Select NEXT.
  2. Instagram will automatically open the Google Authenticator App and ask you if you want to “Save Key For”  “Instagram: username_of_your_account”. SELECT YES.
  3. Once it setup you will see your account setup in Google Authenticator – tap and hold on that entry to copy the 6 digit code
  4. Go back into Instagram where the app will now ask you to ENTER YOUR CODE, enter that 6 digit code (remember the code resets every 30 seconds) to complete the Two-Factor setup!
  5. Once done you will see another option become available under the “TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION is ON” called “ACCOUNT RECOVERY – RECOVER CODES“.
  6. Go into the Recovery Codes and SCREENSHOT or write down all those CODES. These codes can be used if you loose your phone or don’t have access to the 6 digit codes in Google Authenticator. KEEP THEM IN A SAFE PLACE and only use them as a LAST RESORT. Always use your Google Authenticator app 6 digit codes that are generated every 30 seconds.
  7. TURN OFF “Text Message” Two-Factor, it can be hacked…. the “Authentication App” Two-Factor is HACKER PROOF.

OPTIONAL: If you want to use Authy App “Set Up Manually”

  1. Select Set Up Manually
  2. You will be given a 36 alpha numeric “Instagram Key Code”, that you will copy. (tap on “copy key”)
  3. Open AUTHY and “ADD Account”, select “Enter Key Manually”, paste the 36 alpha numeric Instagram Key Code (which is specific and different for each IG account you add).  Give this new ATHY 2 Factor account you just added a NAME (use your IG name), and copy the first (or second) 6 digit CODE it spits out (keep in mind these codes reset ever 30 seconds).
  4. Go back into Instagram and enter that 6 digit code to complete the Two-Factor feature!
  5. Once done you will see another option become available under the “TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION is ON” called “ACCOUNT RECOVERY – RECOVER CODES“.
  6. Go into the Recovery Codes and SCREENSHOT or write down all those CODES. These codes can be used if you loose your phone or don’t have access to the 6 digit codes in AUTHY. KEEP THEM IN A SAFE PLACE and only use them as a LAST RESORT. Always use your AUTHY app 6 digit codes that are generated every 30 seconds.
  7. TURN OFF “Text Message” Two-Factor, it can be hacked…. the “Authentication App” Two-Factor is HACKER PROOF.
